Stand Together or Fall Apart
Stop the Mid-States Corridor
Poll Results
Results from the poll conducted by Public Policy Polling have been announced. Opposition is overwhelming.
81% of Dubois County voters oppose the Mid-States Corridor. 72% strongly oppose the project.
Support is small by comparison. 14% support the project with only 6% strongly in support of it.
And there isn't much uncertainty. Only six percent are unsure.
On the question of relinquishing US-231 and shifting costs, 84% oppose pushing maintenance costs onto local taxpayers.
And on the project's stated "connectivity" benefit, voters just don't value it. 82% say claimed travel-time saving is not important at all, and another 8% say it's not too important.
77% say they're less likely to re-elect an official who supports the project and 87% say local elected officials should clearly state where they stand on the road.
So where do we go from here? This is the start of a better future--one where we have the facts, where data matters, where our community leads, and our future is shaped right here at home.
